Training and Seminars
Seminars and training courses are an important element of the services we offer our clients. The objective of these events is to help public sector staff understand and anticipate relevant legal developments. They help clients plan for the future and put in place appropriate strategies or policies - whether that means introducing new recruitment or disciplinary procedures in response to a change in employment law, or adapting their procurement procedures as a result of developments at European Union (EU) level.
In addition, the seminars aim to further strengthen the working relationship between our solicitors and clients, by promoting two-way communication and helping staff understand the legal background to their work.
Seminars and training courses are presented by specialist solicitors from across our Litigation, Employment, Commercial and Property departments, and specialist groups. Seminars and courses take two forms: national seminars held at regular intervals, which are open to all clients, and customised local seminars. In response to feedback from clients, we also supplement our training programmes with regular communications and updates on specific areas such as employment law. Like the seminars, these updates are designed to keep clients informed about relevant legal developments, and to help them plan accordingly.
As recognised experts in their field, our solicitors are also regularly invited to speak at other conferences and events. This too is a means for us to help the public sector - even those parts of it which are not our clients - stay informed of changes in the legal environment, and to operate as effectively as possible within that environment.
